Snorkel Molokini Crater to Maui’s Spectacular Coral Gardens
Visit one of Maui’s top snorkeling destinations on the Classic Four Winds II Afternoon Snorkel. The Maui Trade Wind conditions will determine our Destination for the day as we set sail for the either Molokini Crater or the Spectacular Coral Gardens.

Molokini is designated as a State Marine Life and Bird Conservation District, and one of Maui's top snorkeling destinations. The crater basin is a lush reef area that never fails to surprise visitors with its abundance and variety of marine life including butterfly fish, parrot fish, the unofficial Hawaii State Fish Humuhumunukunukuapuaa, and Snowflake eels. There have even been sightings of Humpback Whales, Hawaiian rays, and Hawaiian Monk Seals visiting the crater! Many of the more than 250 species of fish are native to Hawaii and are found nowhere else in the world! The pristine conditions make this a safe and fun spot to snorkel with the whole family.

Maui’s afternoon Trade Wind conditions often do not allow us to get to Molokini so we have found an alternate National Marine Sanctuary, the Coral Gardens. This stunning snorkel destination is a reef nestled in the protected bays at the base of the West Maui Mountains, just South of Lahaina. Coral Gardens is a canopy of hard coral that provides nooks and crannies for a spectacular array of marine life. The coral gently slopes from the mountain cliffs and teems with schools of fish; Parrotfish, angelfish, triggerfish, and butterfly fish abound. Hawaiian Sea Turtles (Honu), Octopus and Snowflake Eels are also resident here. The Maui Sea Cliffs offer protection from the often high winds, making this an ideal afternoon snorkeling destination. Between the Mid December and the end of April this trip also affords a great opportunity to see Humpback whales in action.

Allow our Hawaii Certified Marine Naturalist (on board all cruises) to bring your memories of Maui and Molokini or Coral Gardens to life permanently with a narrated video of your trip. Smile … cameras will be rolling the entire day!

Four Winds II…The Fun Lovers Boat on Maui
This lighter version of our Classic Molokini Morning Snorkel is great because of the late start time, but just as fun. Our Four Winds II is a 55 foot glass bottom catamaran, and is fondly referred to as "the boat for fun-lovers". With a crew that is completely dedicated to fun and to making each passenger feel like an honored guest, this trip is a must-do for families. Four Winds II is the only vessel on Maui with a glassbottom viewing room that you can actually sit in, offering a unique alternative for members of the family who may not be able to otherwise share in the fun.

Imagine yourself awestruck as you experience a 180 degree view, both in front of and below you, of the wonders of the undersea world at Molokini Crater or Coral Gardens. From the seasoned snorkeler to the non-swimmer, the Four Winds II truly offers something for every member of the family and provides never-ending fun for all both on our two spacious decks and in the water. All snorkel gear is included along with boogie boards, floating noodles, "See Boards" (like a large boogie board equipped with a Plexiglas view port), free use of Optical Masks, and fresh water shower, Wetsuits rentals are available for a $5 fee. We even have a water slide for children of all ages. The Four Winds II is one of the best trips to Molokini or Coral Gardens and our Classic Afternoon Snorkeling Tour from Maui has made us a family favorite for more than 20 years!
